Full House Enjoys Creation Retreat

Last weekend, a big house full of students and scholars gathered in the Smoky Mountains for another Creation Retreat, this time themed around “weird fossils.” Our guest, Matt McLain from the Master’s University led us in a deep dive into something called non-mammalian synapsids. What are non-mammalian synapsids? They’re not exactly reptiles, and they’re not exactly mammals. They have a unique mixture of characteristics, some of which aren’t found in any other creature. Little noted by the public, these “weird fossils” display remarkable intricacies of God’s creation, and we’re excited to see where Dr. McLain’s research goes next.
We also spent time over the weekend chatting about creation research, trying to answer BIG questions, and just catching up with friends. One person there told Dr. Wood the retreat was the most important thing happening in creationism today! We owe a big thank you to everyone who came and helped out with all the logistical details.
Our next retreat happens this fall, and we’ll explore the effects of the Curse on creation. Keep watching for the full announcement in the next few weeks, and get those tickets early to make sure you can enjoy exploring God’s creation in the Great Smoky Mountains!
